Sugar Shaker
Period: 17th century
Small cylindrical majolica container, wallpaper decoration in blue on a light blue background, a table object that we could consider a luxury item for the time and that was used to sprinkle sugar. Hence the name "sugar shaker".
The lid, topped by a small knob, has five holes, the flat foot contains the Lanterna mark inside, Albisola second half of the 17th century (Grosso factory?), and the inlet hole for powdered sugar.
The sugar shaker testifies to the habits of how the aristocracy decorated the table in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Excellent condition, very rare, a gem for true collectors.
Dimensions: height 10 cm – base diameter 5.5 cm
